Women's soccer wipes Carleton 3-0, claims #3 spot in MIAC playoffs

St. Olaf women's soccer battled Carleton Saturday at Rolf Mellby Field in Northfield, Minn., defeating the Knights 3-0 and claiming the coveted #3 seed in the MIAC playoffs.

Kira Price (FY, Palo Alto, Calif./Gunn) helped the Ole effort with her goal, assisted by Katie Bierlein (So., Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview) in the 30th minute. Kaia Knutson (Jr., Fargo, N.D./South) stormed the net in the 50th minute with an assist to Lindsay Ruisch (Jr., Johnston, Iowa), and Ruish came back to score unassisted in the 78th minute.

With the Ole (7-4-0) win, Carleton and Augsburg (7-4-0) both move to the fourth place MIAC slot.

Tournament play begins Wednesday when St. Olaf faces second place Concordia-Moorhead (9-1-0).
