APPLETON, Wis. - Joe Searl scored twice, the game-tying goal with 36 seconds left in regulation and the winner nine seconds into overtime as Lawrence University claimed a 2-1 overtime men's hockey win over St. Olaf on Friday night.

It was the first Lawrence win in the series since 2002 and just the second in 20 meetings between the schools.

St. Olaf (3-6-2) scored first on Barret Simons first goal of the year, an unassisted tally at the 8:15 mark of the second period.

Searl's heroics snapped the Oles' five game (3-0-2) unbeaten streak.

St. Olaf outshot the Vikings 35-25 and the teams were a combined 0-for-9 on power plays (StO 0-for-5, LU 0-for-4).

The Oles and Vikings meet tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the series finale.
