Tommies force Sunday finale with 14-3 rout of Oles

DUNDAS, Minn. - The University of St. Thomas hit four homeruns in a 14-3 rout of St. Olaf in the MIAC Baseball Playoffs to force a deciding Sunday finale.

St. Olaf (31-6) led 1-0 after a second inning solo homer from Carson Jones, his third of the tournament, but the Tommies scored ten times in the next four innings.

Matt Pexa and Chris Bullis each went 3-for-5 with a homer for the Tommies (31-10). Every St. Thomas starter had a hit.

UST starter Lonnie Robinson went 6 2/3 innings, scattering four hits and three walks.

Andrew Schmiesing blasted a two-run homer and walked twice for the Oles.

The teams will meet tomorrow at 1 p.m. with the MIAC's bid to the NCAA Tournament at stake.
