Oles get fourth seed in MIAC playoffs with 5-1 win over St. Kate's

The St. Olaf women's hockey team gained the fourth seed in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament with a 5-1 win over the College of St. Catherine on Saturday at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis.

The Oles (10-8-0 MIAC, 12-13-0 overall) will host fifth-seeded Saint Mary's on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

It will be the third straight MIAC postseason appearance for St. Olaf.

Katie Bennett had a pair of short-handed goals in the win.

The Oles scored three times in the second period.
