Fastpitch splits to end season

The St. Olaf fastpitch team took a 9-1 game one decision before falling 4-2 in the series and season finale to Augsburg College on Thursday in Northfield, Minn.

The Oles finished their season 14-24 overall and 8-14 in MIAC play.

Game One: St. Olaf 9, Augsburg 1
Christina Sampson was 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs to lead St. Olaf to the 9-1 game one victory.

Emily Hennig and Lindsay Weier also added 2-for-3 efforts in the win.

St. Olaf scored five runs in their half of the second inning.

Bekki Hagen scattered six hits to earn the win.

Game Two: Augsburg 4, St. Olaf 2
Sarah Green was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and allowed just five hits in seven innings to lead Augsburg to a 4-2 win.

Maggie Roscher had two hits for St. Olaf in a losing effort.
