Westby wins twice, Oles stay in second

MINNEAPOLIS - Nelson Westby won the 100 Fly, 100 Breast and swam on the Oles' winning 200 Medley Relay team as the St. Olaf men's swimming and diving team stayed in second place through Friday, the second of three days at the MIAC Championships at the University of Minnesota's Aquatics Center.
Westby took the the 100 Fly in an NCAA "A" cut 49.14 and then broke the conference mark in the 100 breaststroke with another NCAA automatic qualifier at 55.97.
St. Olaf won the 200 medley relay as Adam Meyer, David Manley, Westby and Jake Koch finished in 1:33.28.
Meyer was second in the 100 Back while Koch was third in the 200 Free.
Meyer and Luke Murrell finished second and third in the 100 Back.
Chris Bateman added a third place, All-MIAC swim in the 400 IM.
St. Olaf trails Gustavus by 40 into tomorrows final day.
