Women's track and field ninth at MIAC Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's track and field team finished ninth overall in the MIAC Indoor Championship meet this weekend, hosted by Saint John's University.
In the pole vault, St. Olaf's Amie Fillmore shared the individual crown with Gustavus' Shanna Dawson with a NCAA provisional qualifying vault of 11'11 3/4" (3.65m).
Other top performers for the Oles included first-year Laura Cook, who finished sixth in the 800m run.
Teammate Abby Smith added another sixth place finish in the mile, with a time of 5:21.49.
The MIAC Championship title went to the University of St. Thomas, who scored 233 points and won its ninth straight title. Gustavus was second with 98.5 points, and Bethel university was third with 98.
The meet was rounded out by Concordia Moorehead with 87, the College of St. Benedict with 75, Carleton College with 51.5, Hamline University with 39, St. Olaf with 20.5, Macalester College with 17, Augsburg College wtih 14, and Saint Mary's University with 4.
