Ole women host Manitou Classic

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's track and field team had their first outdoor competition of the season as they hosted Saturday's unscored Manitou Classic Meet.

The Oles' top performer was 10,000 meter runner Jenna Carlson, who finished second in 38:36.16. Teammate Kathryn Thompson added a third place finish in the 400 meter hurdles, with a time of 1:08.57.

In the 1500 meter run, St. Olaf's Abby Smith was fifth in a field of 45 runners with a time of 4:54.64. Teammate Alison Mills finished fifth in another large field in the 400 meter dash, crossing the line in 1:00.50.

In the field for the Oles, Amie Fillmore added one more fifth place finish in the pole vault, vaulting 3.50 meters.

The St. Olaf women's track and field team competes next at the Macalester Invitational on April 26.
