Women's tennis loses in semifinals of MIAC playoffs

ST. PETER, Minn.--The St. Olaf Women's tennis team reached the MIAC playoff semifinals, but fell to Gustavus in day two of the tournament.

St. Olaf 5, Saint Benedict 2
St. Olaf, seeded fifth in the playoffs, upset #4 Saint Ben's on Friday.

Abby Ho came out strong in first singles to win 6-0, 6-3. Aimee Ny also emerged victorious, winning her match 6-3, 6-4. Sarah Carlson rounded out the Ole singles wins, dominating 6-1, 6-2. Two singles matches were unfinished due to weather conditions

Ho and Anna Klenke paired up in doubles to win, 8-4. Sarah Magnuson and Ida Holdahl also picked up an 8-2 victory for the Oles.

Gustavus 5, St. Olaf 0
The Oles fell to top seeded Gustavus in the semifinals of the MIAC tournament on Saturday in a 5-0 decision. Gustavus went on to win the conference title and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

St. Olaf ended the season with a 6-8 record, and 6-5 in the MIAC. The St. Olaf Alumni Match will be held for all current and former player on Saturday, May 5 at the Carlson Tennis Courts
