Women's track and field seventh at MIAC Championships

ST. PAUL - The St. Olaf women's track and field team finished seventh overall at this weekend's MIAC Championship Meet, hosted by Hamline University.

In middle distance, the Oles' Laura Cook, a first-year, was sixth in 2:20.04. Teammate Abby Smith added another sixth-place finish in the 1500 meter run, crossing the line in 4:49.78.

St. Olaf's Jenna Carlson was seventh in the 5000 meter run and fourth in the 10,000 meter run, with times of 18:21.72 and 38:36.39, respectively. Jackie Kelly added a 40:36.85, seventh place finish in the 10,000.

In the steeplechase, St. Olaf's Lisa Skildum was third with a time of 11:27.10, while teammate Casey Baustian was fifth in 11:30.62. Kathryn Thompson was also third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 65.06.

In field events for the Oles, Amie Fillmore finished second in the pole vault, vaulting 3.46 meters.

St. Olaf was seventh overall with 49.0 points. The University of St. Thomas took first with 262.0 points, while Gustavus Adolphus College was second with 155.5. Concordia-Moorhead College had 83.5 points to round out the top-three.
