Martha Nause, the head men's and women's golf coach at Macalester and 1977 graduate of St. Olaf, qualified for this week's US Women's Open in Edina with a two-day 152 earlier this month in Skokie, Ill.

Nause, 53, is the oldest player in the field. She won three times on the LPGA tour in her career before retiring in 1999. Her last win on tour was the 1994 Du Maurier Classic, a major championship at that time.

The Open, played at Interlachen Country Club, begins Thursday.

Nause will tee off at 12:30 p.m. from the first hole with Sherri Turner and amateur Alexis Thompson.

On Friday, the group will go off the tenth hole at 7 a.m.
