Volleyball beats BVU, Crown in three

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf volleyball team beat Buena Vista University and Crown College in three sets on Saturday at Carleton's West Gymnasium to finish the St. Olaf/Carleton Invitational 4-0.

Kim Smisek had a team-best 13 kills, while hitting .545, in the win over BVU for the Oles (4-0, 0-0 MIAC).

The Oles hit .545 in the second set win and .395 for the match, while the Beavers managed to hit just -.035.

In the win over Crown (25-14, 25-10, 25-13), St. Olaf was led by first year Frances Xin who had a team-best nine kills.

St. Olaf, off to its first 4-0 start since 2001, plays next weekend at the Wis.-River Falls Invitational.
