Christoffel scores twice, Oles over Luther 3-1

DECORAH, Iowa - First year Catie Christoffel scored two goals to lead the visiting St. Olaf women's soccer team to a 3-1 win over Luther College on Wednesday night.

Luther led 1-0 on a Kelsey Balk goal at the 15:23 mark but Christoffel scored off a Jenny Kallas feed minutes later to tie the game.

After the Oles' Christina Herron-Sweet scored at 34:05, Christoffel added an insurance goal on a rebound off the post in the 65th minute to secure the win.

St. Olaf (3-0-0, 0-0-0 MIAC) is off to its second 3-0-0 start under third-year head coach Jeremy Driver, who led the team to three wins to start his rookie campaign in 2006.

The Oles have now scored more goals in three games this season (18) than all of 2007 (15).
