Zietlow scores hat trick, overtime winner

DECORAH, Iowa - John Zietlow scored all three St. Olaf goals, including the game-winner on a direct kick in overtime, to lead the visiting Oles to a 3-2 win over host Luther College on Wednesday night.

The teams played to a scoreless first half until Luther led 1-0 on a goal from Alex Case at the 52:21 mark.

Zietlow then scored two goals, each on assists from Nathan Swenson, in the 54th and 75th minutes to give the Oles a 2-1 lead.

Luther's Adam Pyzdrowski then tied the game with 1:01 left in regulation to force the extra session and set up Zietlow's heroics.

Zietlow now has five goals and an assist in the Oles' first three games (2-1-0), while Swenson has a team-best three assists.

St. Olaf hosts Northwestern College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
