Wis.-Eau Claire defeats women's soccer

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - Lisa Marco and Abby Smith each scored twice as to lead host UW-Eau Claire to an 8-2 women's soccer win over St. Olaf on Wednesday.

Marco and Smith combined to score the Blugolds (3-0-1, 0-0-0 WIAC) first four goals on the way to a 5-0 lead.

The Oles got on the board with Ellie Steiner's goal in the 68th minute, her team-best fifth of the year.

Christina Herron-Sweet scored the Oles' other goal.

St. Olaf plays at Saint Mary's in the MIAC opener for both schools on Saturday at 1 p.m.
