Women's cross country eighth of 36 at Griak Invitational

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's cross country team placed eighth in the thirty-six team field of the Maroon III race at this morning's Roy Griak Invitational, held at the University of Minnesota's Les Bolstad Golf Course.

Senior Annie Knutson was the Oles' top runner in the race, crossing the line in 23:13 to finish 11th overall. Teammate Jenna Carlson was 19th overall in 23:25. Juniors Abby Smith, Michaela McLaughlin, and Nellie Adams were also scorers for St. Olaf, finishing 58th, 65th, and 79th, respectively.

The individual race winner was UW-River Fall's Becca Jordahl with a time of 21:59.

The Maroon III team title went to UW-Eau Claire, with 110 points. Wartburg College was second with 151 points, and UW-La Crosse was third with 160. St. Olaf was eighth with 232 points.

The team competes next Friday, October 3 at the BluGold Invitational in Colfax, Wisconsin.
