Volleyball snaps skid with five-set win over SMU

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Jane Meyer had 23 kills as the St. Olaf volleyball team defeated Saint Mary's University on Wednesday night in five sets (25-22, 20-25, 25-22, 20-25, 15-13) to stop a five-game losing streak.
Kim Smisek added 18 and Jess Levin 15 kills for the Oles (13-9, 3-3 MIAC), who played in their sixth five-set match in their last seven outings.
Jessica Mate had a match-best 25 kills, while hitting .350, for Saint Mary's (11-9, 3-3 MIAC).
The teams traded sets in the match, with St. Olaf taking the first, third and deciding fifth.
The Oles jumped to leads of 3-1 and 7-4 in the final set.
