Volleyball wins two in final day at Border Battle

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - The St. Olaf volleyball team extended its winning streak to five with a pair of three-set wins, over Buena Vista University and Luther College, in the final day of the IIAC-MIAC Border Battle on Saturday afternoon.
Paige Olson had 11 kills, hitting .625, in the 25-22, 25-17 and 25-17 win over Buena Vista.
Kim Smisek also had 11 kills for the Oles, who hit .337 as a team, in the win over BVU.
Smisek had 15 kills and Jess Levin 12 in the victory over Luther, 25-21, 26-24, 30-28.
Levin was named to the all-tournament team - her fourth honor in as many events.
The Oles overcame a 23-20 deficit in the third set against Luther.
St. Olaf has five matches left - all in league play - to close the season beginning with a Wednesday road match at Augsburg College.
