Men's cross country to 27th in national poll

The St. Olaf men's cross country team jumped eight spots to 27th in the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Top 35, released Wednesday.

Only one MIAC and Central Region foe, St. Thomas at 26th, is ahead of St. Olaf.

The Oles were ninth at the Jim Drews Invitational on Saturday in La Crosse, Wis. Dubuol Ruon was 18th overall in the 25-team field to lead the Oles, who were third among Division III and first of seven MIAC schools in the event.

Cullen O'Neill and David Green were the team's second and third-best runners in the race.

St. Olaf is off until the Nov. 1 MIAC Championships.
