Women's hockey opens season with loss

MEQUON, Wis. - The St. Olaf women's hockey team opened the 2008-09 season with a 7-5 loss at Concordia University-Wisconsin on Friday night.

The Oles' Kim McClintick had two goals and an assist in the loss.

Alyssa Isaackson scored twice and Sarah Luberda had a goal and two assists for Concordia.

Concordia jumped to leads of 2-0, 4-1 and 6-3 before St. Olaf got within one after Laruen Tomford and Kim McClintick goals in the third period to make it 6-5.

The Oles then pulled goalie Erin McNamara for the almost the final three minutes, and Concordia's Sarah Smith added an empty net goal to seal the win.
