UW-Stout edges men's hockey 4-3

BUFFALO, Minn. - UW-Stout claimed a 4-3 men's hockey win over St. Olaf in Buffalo's College Hockey Showcase on Saturday night.
The Blue Devils (5-2-0, 0-0-0 NCHA) had leads of 3-1 and 4-2 before the Oles closed the gap twice.
Ben Umhoefer had two goals and Isak Tranvik two assists for the Oles (2-2-0, 0-0-0 MIAC), who outshot UW-Stout 34-29.
Scott Motz had a goal and an assist for UW-Stout. His score gave his team a 4-2 lead at the 5:27 mark in the third.
Umhoefer's first goal got the Oles within 3-2 with 2:23 left in the second period. His second goal was in the game's final seconds when the Oles had an extra skater.
St. Olaf plays Saint John's University to open MIAC play next weekend in a home-and-home series.
