Women's cross country eighth at NCAA Div. III Central Region

GRINNELL, Iowa - The St. Olaf women's cross country team finished eighth in a field of 26 teams at this morning's NCAA Division III Central Region Championship, hosted by Grinnell College.
The Oles, with 200 points, fell behind first-place Wartburg College (92 points), second-place Luther College (95 points), and third place St. Thomas University (117 points) for the eighth-place finish.
Leading St. Olaf in the race was senior Jenna Carlson, 11th overall in 22:50.3. Annie Knutson was second for the team and 15th overall in 22:59.0. Hannah Dennis, Katie Duwell, and Micheala McLaughlin rounded out the top-five for the Oles, finishing 49th, 62nd, and 63rd, respectively.
All five of St. Olaf's scoring runners finished within the top 65 of the race, and all seven of the teams' competing runners finished in the top 70.
Marie Borner, of Bethel University, was first overall, crossing the line in 21:28.1.
The NCAA Division III National Cross Country Championships will be held next Saturday, November 22 at Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana.
