Football wraps up season with 31-10 win over Pipers

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Coty Watkins rushed for 194 yards and two touchdowns to lead St. Olaf to a 31-10 football win over host Hamline University to wrap up the 2008 season.
Watkins scored on rushes of five and 30 yards for the Oles (6-4, 4-4 MIAC), who jumped to a 21-3 lead.
Hamline's only touchdown, an 18-yard run by Larry Deeton, made it 21-10 with 1:40 left in the first half.
The Oles' Leon Clark then returned the ensuing kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown and Pat Wadzinski tacked on an 18-yard field goal as time expired in the first half to make it 31-10.
St. Olaf running back Evan Endsley opened scoring with a 5-yard, first quarter touchdown run.
The Oles' Nick Branjord forced a fumble on the Piper's next possesion, which was recovered by Carson Jones to give the Oles the ball on Hamline's 10-yard line.
St. Olaf then pushed the lead to 14-0 on Watkins' five-yard score.
St. Olaf quarterback John Haberman was 16-of-24 for 160 yards and an interception on the day. The Oles gathered 368 total offensive yard while holding Hamline to 167.
