Men's swimming and diving defeats Gusties

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf men's swimming and diving team defeated Gustavus Adolphus College 181-119 Saturday afternoon at Skoglund Natatorium.

Leading the Oles was Jake Koch with first place finishes in the 50, 100, and 200 yard freestyle races. Koch was also part of the 400 free relay, along with Kaegan Recher, Brock Edwards, and Nelson Westby that took first with a time of 3:11.71.

Westby also had first place finishes, in the 100 yard and 200 yard breaststroke races, along with the 200 yard medley relay team that won with a time of 1:35.04. Swimming with Westby in the relay were Adam Meyer, Luke Money, and Edwards.

Chris Bateman had two first place finishes in the 200 yard IM and 500 yard freestyle races. Bateman also finished second in the 100 yard breaststroke.

Meyer also swept the 100 and 200 yard backstroke races, finishing first in both.

Money had two second place finishes in the 100 yard and 200 yard butterfly. Nate Bentley also had two second place finishes in the 200 yard IM and the 200 yard breaststroke.

Leading the Ole divers were Ian Straehly and Ryan Trostrud finishing first and second.
