Fong, Oles cruise to win over Luther

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Bobby Fong had 19 points and Alfie Jaryan 16 off the bench to lead St. Olaf to an 80-59 non-conference men's basketball win over Luther College on Monday night.

Fong was a perfect 3-for-3 from the arc and 7-of-12 from the field for the Oles, who led 49-25 at the half.

St. Olaf (2-2, 0-1 MIAC), which had 11 assists against only one turnover in the first half, was 8-of-13 from the arc in the win.

Dane Larson had a team-best nine points to lead Luther (0-1, 0-0 IIAC).

Mark Torell was also 3-of-3 from three for the Oles for nine points while Brady McMahon had ten.

Jaryan did his damage in just 17 minutes. He hit his only three-point attempt and added an assist and two steals.

St. Olaf is off until next Monday, when they travel to Martin Luther College for a non-conference game.
