Westby is National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week

Nelson Westby added another award to his resume on Tuesday when he was named the Division III National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week.

Westby (Sr., Salem, Ore.) had two wins at Carthage's TYR/Collegeswimming.com Classic; the 100 breaststroke (54.66, Meet/pool record, NCAA "A" time), and the 200 breaststroke (1:58.98, meet/pool record, NCAA "A" time).

He narrowly missed the national records in both the 100 breaststroke (54.49) and the 200 breaststroke (1:58.90).

The senior also swam to a third place finish in the 50 freestyle (21.48). Westby swam on two winning relays; the 400 freestyle relay (3:08.03), the 400 medley relay (3:24.63 meet and pool record), and the second place 200 medley relay (1:24.59).
