MINNEAPOLIS - Nate Krosschell had 15 points off the bench to lead St. Olaf to a 57-55 men's basketball win over host Augsburg College on Saturday afternoon.
Bobby Fong added 12 points for the Oles in the win, their first in conference play.
St. Olaf (4-5, 1-3 MIAC) trailed by as many as nine in the second half, at 41-32 with 13:56 to play, but used a 13-2 run over a six-minute stretch late in the second half to gain a four-point lead.
Augsburg, which had a game-best 16 points from Jon Cassens, had the ball three times inside the last minute with a chance to tie or take the lead. The Auggies missed two running layups and turned it over on the final possession of the game to seal the St. Olaf win.
The Oles were just 3-of-13 from the arc but made 10 free throws, in 16 trips, in the second half while Augsburg shot only one.
Anthony Humphrey had 14 points, on 4-of-5 shooting, for the Auggies in the loss.
