Pointers edge men's hockey

STEVENS POINT, Wis. - UW-Stevens Point defeated St. Olaf 4-2 in a non-conference men's hockey game on Saturday night.

The loss snapped the Oles' (8-3-1, 5-0-1 MIAC) seven-game unbeaten streak.

The host Pointers (10-5-0) took a 1-0 lead midway through the first period on a Taylor Guay goal.

St. Olaf tied the game on Charlie Raskob's score with eight minutes left in the second period.

UW-Stevens Point then got back-to-back goals, from Jonathan Ralph and Garrett Suter, to take a 3-1 lead.

Isak Tranvik got the Oles within one on a feed from Will Smith and Nick Stalock with 7:54 left.

St. Olaf, which outshot the Pointers 36-33, pulled goaltender Ben Leis in the final two minutes and Stevens Point added an empty net tally with 42 seconds left to seal the win.
