No. 6 Saints hold off Ole men

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Sixth-ranked St. Scholastica held off St. Olaf for a 5-4 men's hockey win at Northfield Ice Arena on Friday night.

St. Olaf (9-4-1, 5-0-1 MIAC) trailed 3-2 into the final period, then got a goal from Bryan Osmondson at the 5:32 to knot the game at three apiece.

St. Scholastica countered with two straight goals in a three-minute stretch midway through the period to take a 5-3 lead.

The Oles' Nick Stalock scored his sixth goal of the year with 4:54 left but the Oles couldn't push the tying score in the final minutes past the Saints' goaltender - Zach Kleiman, who moved to 2-0-0 after making 24 saves.

Jordan Chong had two goals to lead CSS, which outshot the Oles 37-27. Trevor Geiger and Jeremy Dawes added a goal and an assist each in the win.

St. Olaf will play the University of Wisconsin-Superior tomorrow at 2 p.m. while St. Scholastica plays at Gustavus at 7 p.m.
