Sailor's OT goal lifts Ole women

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Melissa Sailor scored a power play goal 19 seconds into overtime to lead St. Olaf to a 2-1 women's hockey win over the College of St. Catherine on Saturday night at Northfield Ice Arena.

Sailor's goal cam on touches from Katie Iraci and Kristen Latta to give the Oles the win.

Lauren Tomford scored the Oles' other goal, at the 5:56 mark of the first, on an assist from Kim McClintick.

The Wildcats' Cassie Rooney tied the game at 1-1 on her score at 10:36 of the second.

Jess Ptachick had 28 saves to earn the win in net for St. Olaf while Mel Gerten took the hard-luck loss for St. Kate's. Gerten made 39 saves.

The teams meet tomorrow at Ridder Arena at the University of Minnesota in the series finale at 2:05 p.m.
