Erickson has 31, but Oles fall at SMU

WINONA, Minn. - Elyse Erickson had 31 points for St. Olaf, but host Saint Mary's University won a 65-62 MIAC women's basketball game on Saturday afternoon.
The team's traded the lead nine times in the final 20 minutes. St. Olaf led 30-23 at the half, but the Cardinals went on a 8-0 run to open the second. St. Olaf had its last advantage with 8:17 to play.
Erickson's 31-point effort matched a career-high. She's hit at least 20 six times this year, as Saturday's effort was her first 30-point game of the winter.
Jess Miller had 16 points and Jesa Hall 15 to lead SMU (1-12, 1-9 MIAC). Miller was 2-for-2 and Hall 4-of-8 from the arc to lead the Cardinals, who when 9-for-16 from long distance.
St. Olaf was just 2-for-18 from three.
Terin Euerle had 12 points off the bench, on 4-of-4 shooting from the field and the free throw line, in the loss. Kelsey Oja added ten, but was 4-for-15 from the field.
St. Olaf hosts Concordia College-Moorhead on Monday at 5:45 p.m.
