Women's track opens season, Fillmore hits NCAA mark at Bethel

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Pole vaulter Amie Fillmore provisionally qualified for the Division III NCAA meet, and the St. Olaf women's track and field team opened their season this Saturday at the unscored Bethel Open.

Fillmore, a junior, was first her event, vaulting 11' 5 3/4" (3.50 meters).

Teammate Abby Smith also won her event, finishing the 800 meter run in 2:31.05.

In the sprints, Ole Callie Knaeble was third in the 55 meter dash, and second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.32.

The team competes again on January 24 when they host the St. Olaf Triangular.
