Men's hockey past No. 12 Hamline to save split

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - St. Olaf scored twice in the first 74 seconds in a 4-1 men's hockey win over No. 12 Hamline on Saturday to save a split in the MIAC home-and-home series.

Derek Grogan scored 29 seconds into the game and Roger Truesdale followed with a goal at the 1:14 mark on an assist from Dylan Mueller to make it 2-0.

Nick Krauss made 35 saves to earn the win in net for the Oles.

With the win, St. Olaf (10-6-1, 6-1-1 MIAC) stayed atop the MIAC points standings, three points ahead of the second place Pipers (10-4-1, 5-1-0) with a series in hand.

Mueller had two goals of his own, one at 17:14 of the first and another 3:52 into the second.

St. Olaf plays Saint Mary's next weekend in an MIAC series.
