Women's track first at St. Olaf Triangular

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's track and field team hosted the St. Olaf Triangular this Saturday, overcoming Carleton College and Hamline University in the 17 event meet.

St. Olaf's Gina Collins was second in the 55 meter dash, while teammate Jamie Mosel won the 400 meter dash in 1:08.54. In longer events, St. Olaf junior Abby Smith was first in the 800 meter run, crossing the line in 2:26.40.

Ole pole-vaulter Amie Fillmore won her event, vaulting 3.37 meters. At last weekend's Bethel Open, Fillmore provisionally qualifed for the NCAA championship meet.

St. Olaf finished the triangular with 134.5 points, for the win. Hamline was second with 104, and Carleton rounded out the scoring with 78.5.

The Ole women's track and field team will compete again next weekend on January 30th when they host the St. Olaf Invitational meet.
