NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Jamie Erdahl had 16 points, including five inside the final minute, to help St. Olaf defeat Carleton 52-48 on Monday night in an MIAC women's basketball game at Carleton's West Gym.
Erdahl hit a key layup to give the Oles a five-point lead with 1:01 left, then hit 5-of-6 at the line to help seal the win.
Kelsey Oja added 13 points and Tasha Mrosak nine for St. Olaf in the win, their first since Jan. 3. Oja, Mrosak and Erdahl combined to hit eight three-pointers in the first half on the way to a 29-24 lead.
Carleton rallied to take a 35-33 lead in the sluggish second half. The teams combined to go scoreless for over six minutes midway through the final 20 minutes. The Oles went over ten minutes without a point, then scored on their next five possessions to take a 44-35 lead with 4:05 left.
The host Knights made it interesting with Ally Weaver's three long-range three-pointers, including the final one that made it 52-50 with 11 seconds left. Erdahl made both free throws on the ensuing possession to give the Oles the win.
Weaver finished 5-for-7 from the arc for a team-best 15 points. Carleton was plagued by 23 turnovers, while St. Olaf had only 14.
