NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Nick Stalock scored a pair of third period goals and Nick Krauss made 29 saves to help first place St. Olaf to a 4-1 MIAC men's hockey win over Bethel University on Friday night at Northfield Ice Arena.
Stalock's first goal, at 18:12 in the final period, gave the Oles a 3-1 lead. He added an empty net score 12 seconds later.
With the win St. Olaf (13-6-1, 9-1-1 MIAC) moved three points ahead of second place Gustavus (8-4-0 MIAC), who is idle this week with a series in hand.
The Oles held a 1-0 lead, on a first period goal from David Adams, for much of the contest.
After a scoreless second period the Royals tied the game on a tally from Mason Swenson in the opening minute of the third.
The Oles responded with Andy Benson's game-winner, an unassisted goal at the 10:55 mark.
St. Olaf and Bethel complete the series tomorrow at 7 p.m. in Blaine, Minn.
