Ole women slip in overtime, fall to BU

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's hockey team dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to Bethel University on Saturday night, as the Royals completed a two-game MIAC sweep.

Bethel's Anna Carlson scored twice, including the game-winner at 1:37 of overtime.

St. Olaf had its goals from Kim McClintick and Kelly Biddle in the loss. The Oles, trailing 2-1 midway through the second period, tied the game on Biddle's goal at 12:55.

After a scoreless first period, BU took 1-0 and 2-1 leads at 3:40 and 10:01 of the second. McClintick's score tied the game at 1-1 at 7:36.

Despite the losses St. Olaf remains in fifth place, one point ahead of Saint Benedict and Saint Mary's, for the final MIAC playoff spot with two weekends left.

St. Olaf plays an MIAC series with second place St. Thomas next weekend.
