Ole women fall at No. 6 UST despite McNamara's 34 saves

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's hockey team dropped a 1-0 MIAC game to sixth-ranked St. Thomas, despite a 34-save effort from goaltender Erin McNamara.

The Tommies' Jamie Tiede scored a power-play goal at 4:10 of the third period for the game's only score.

The Oles had killed six other UST advantages, but went 0-for-4 on their power plays.

The loss is the fifth in row for St. Olaf and the third in the stretch by one goal. In the process, the Oles also slipped into a fifth place tie with Saint Ben's which tied Hamline on Friday.

St. Olaf and St. Thomas complete the two-game conference series tomorrow at Northfield Ice Arena at 7 p.m.
