MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, Minn. - Nick Krauss was named the MIAC's men's hockey player of the week after he made a combined 50 saves in the Oles' title-clinching three-point weekend against St. Thomas.

Krauss, who earned the honors last week as well, made 18 saves in Friday's 2-2 tie and 32 in Saturday's 4-2 win over St. Thomas. He is 12-2-1 overall and 9-1-1 in MIAC play this season. In his first season with significant playing time, Krauss has a 2.45 GAA and .924 save percentage.

St. Olaf, undefeated in its last seven games (6-0-1), climbed to 13th in the latest United States College Hockey Online poll, released Monday afternoon. The Oles are the only MIAC team in the poll.

The regular season championship is the first for St. Olaf in 70 years, dating to the 1938-39 season. St. Olaf won a conference playoff title in 2006 when, as the third seed, the Oles won a 5-1 championship game at top-seeded St. Thomas.

With the victory St. Olaf also clinched a bye and home ice for the MIAC Playoffs, which run Feb. 26 - March 4. The Oles will host the winner of the Feb. 26 #4/#5 play-in game on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 8 p.m.
