Ole men keep rolling, beat Auggies 6-2

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Sam Windsor scored twice to lead St. Olaf, undefeated in its last eight games (7-0-1), to a 6-2 MIAC men's hockey win over Augsburg College on Friday night at Northfield Ice Arena.

Each of Windsor's score came in the Oles' five-goal second period.

The win gives the Oles a school-record 16 wins (16-6-2, 12-1-2 MIAC).

Roger Truesdale had a goal and two assists, while Britton Smith, Isak Tranvik and Dylan Mueller each added a goal and an assist in the win.

Nick Krauss improved to 13-2-1 on the sesaon with his 21-save night in net, which included a penalty shot and two breakaways.

St. Olaf, which clinched the MIAC's regular season title last weekend, scored first on Smith's tally at 16:16 in the opening period. Augsburg tied it 2:13 later on a goal from Nick Guran.

The Oles then erupted for five goals in a stretch of 11-plus minutes, including a short-handed breakaway by Windsor and a power-play score by Mueller.

The teams meet in the series finale tomorrow at Augsburg at 7:05 p.m.
