Women's swimming takes 800 Free Relay, Snyder wins again

MINNEAPOLIS - The St. Olaf women's swimming and diving team won the 800 Free Relay on Friday to highlight a solid second day at the three-day MIAC Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center.
Alli Beardsley, Jamie Fredeen, Katie Kubat and Lauren Snyder combined to win the race which saw the Oles shave over 45 seconds off their seed time.
Snyder won her second individual event of the championships with a victory in the 200 Free in 1:53.42 ("B" cut).
Beardsley just missed her second win of the MIAC's, finishing second in the 400 IM with a "B" cut 4:35.18.
Kubat picked up a fourth-place swim in the 100 Back and an NCAA "B" cut with her 59.55. The Oles' Kjersten Grinde added a fifth place finish, in the 100 Breast, in 1:07.36 ("B" cut).
St. Olaf remained in fourth place in the team standings. Tomorrow's final rounds of the championships begin at 10:30 a.m. (prelims) and 6:30 p.m. (finals).
