Men's track hosts Tostrud Classic

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf men's track and field team hosted the Tostrud Classic on Saturday afternoon.
In the sprint events, St. Olaf junior Dan Monroe won the 55 meter dash in 6.88 seconds. He added another win in the 200 meter dash, finishing in 23.41 seconds. Teammate Isaac Tut won the 400 meter dash in 51.62 seconds.
In the longer events, Ole Cullen O'Neill won the 600 yard dash with a time of 1:14.62, edging out Bethel University's Zach Schlegel who finished in 1:14.94.
St. Olaf counted wins in the 1000 meter run with David Anderson's 2:34.51 effort, and the 3000 meter run with Dobuol Ruon's 8:43.95 win as well.
The Oles' 5000 runners -- Jacob Marotz, Adrian Swanson and Andrew Nussbaum -- posted solid times as well, going 15:49.45, 15:53.96 and 16:02.31.
In field events, St. Olaf's Zeke Heydenreich threw 15.70 meters in the weight throw, while teammate John Schantzen threw 14.34 meters in the shot put to add two more event wins.
The Tostrud Classic was unscored.
The St. Olaf men's track and field team competes next on February 28, when they host the Qualifier at Tostrud Center.
