Wrestling 13th at NCAA Regional to finish season

MEQUOIN, Wis. - The St. Olaf wrestling team finished 13th of 15 teams at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional on Saturday to close the 2008-09 season.
Dustin Heiser, a transfer who joined the team in the last few weeks, had the squad's best finish going 4-2 as a heavyweight.
The Oles' top-seeded wrestler, second-seeded 133-pounder Ryan Timmermann, was upset in the quarterfinals and went 1-2 at the event.
The team had a pair of 2-2 efforts -- from Joseph Waples (157) and Ian Peppel (125) -- for the other four individual wins at the regional.
