ST. PAUL, Minn. - Senior forward Dylan Mueller was named the MIAC men's hockey player of the year while Sean Goldsworthy was named the league's coach of the year as the conference announced its awards on Thursday.
Goldsworthy, in his 12th season, earned the honor after leading his team to the first MIAC regular season title in 70 years dating to the 1938-39 season. Under Goldsworthy, the Oles have made five MIAC playoff appearances in the last six seasons and have a 63-49-20 (.563) record overall during the stretch.
Mueller, who led the team with 32 points on 14 goals and 18 assists, was one of five Oles on the 21-man all-conference team.
Fellow senior Sam Windsor also earned the honor with nine of his 11 goals in conference play.
Sophomore Isak Tranvik was also on the team after getting a team-best 19 assists to go with 11 goals.
The Oles had one defenseman, senior Barret Simons, on the squad. Simons had a goal and five assists.
Sophomore Nick Krauss was one of just two goaltenders on the all-conference team. Krauss had great numbers -- a .919 save percentage, 2.58 goals against average and 13-3-1 record -- in his first season of significant time.
In addition to the All-MIAC honors, first year defensemen Derek Grogan and Charlie Raskob were each on the league's all-rookie team.
Three others -- senior forwards Nick Stalock and Roger Trousdale and sophomore defenseman Eric Morrow -- were all-conference honorable mention selections. Trousdale was the St. Olaf representative on the league's all-sportsmanship team.
