DePauw, Oles split baseball doubleheader

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - St. Olaf won the first game 8-5 before dropping game two 4-3 in a non-conference baseball doubleheader with DePauw University on Monday afternoon.

Game One: St. Olaf 8, DePauw 5
Tyler Johnson went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs as the Oles collected the victory. Johnson doubled and scored, as the first of a five-run two-out rally, in the second. His two-run homer came in the bottom of the sixth.

Pat Wadzinski added two hits while Erik Olson worked a complete game on the mound, scattering seven hits and a walk in the win.

Game Two: DePauw 4, St. Olaf 3
DePauw scored three in the bottom of the seventh to pick up the come-from-behind 4-3 win.

St. Olaf gained at 3-1 lead earlier in the inning on RBI singles from Wadzinski and Tyler Jones.

The Tigers countered with the walk-off win on three walks, an error, a wild pitch and and a run-scoring single from Taylor Hoffman.

The loss spoiled a solid game for Jones, who went 3-for-4 and Wadzinski who added his second straight two-hit effort.
