Baseball splits with WIAC foe UW-Oshkosh to finish Florida trip

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - St. Olaf split its non-conference baseball doubleheader with No. 22 UW-Oshkosh on Friday, losing game one 10-7 before a 7-1 game two victory, to close the team's 12-game trip to Florida.
Game One: UW-Oshkosh 10, St. Olaf 7 (8 inn.) The Titans rallied for five runs in the top of the seventh to erase a 6-2 St. Olaf lead and won the game with a three-run rally in eighth.
UW-Oshkosh, which used three straight doubles in the seventh, had a three-hit game from Blake Berger.
The Oles' starting pitcher Todd Mathison went 3-for-3 at the plate, scoring twice. On the mound, he allowed just two runs in the first six innings but ran into trouble in the seventh. After the first hitter reached on an error, he allowed a single, a walk and two doubles.
Game Two: St. Olaf 7, UW-Oshkosh 1 Brandon Agneberg scattered four hits and two walks in a complete game win.
The Oles' Corey Nelson, who was 2-for-4 with three RBIs in the game, drove in two with his single in the second inning.
Erik Nelson went 3-for-3 with three runs and Mathison added a 3-for-4 game. In his last four games, Mathison has raised his average from .182 to .380, going 13-for-17 with two homers, two doubles and ten RBIs.
