Baseball sweeps Auggies behind seventh inning rally, game two rout

MINNEAPOLIS - St. Olaf rallied for three runs in the seventh inning of an 8-6 game one win, then defeated host Augsburg 21-1 in game two of an MIAC baseball doubleheader sweep on Saturday.
Game One: St. Olaf 8, Augsburg 6 Sean Dube hit a two-out double in the top of the seventh inning, plating the tying and go-ahead runs, to lead St. Olaf to the game one win.
Carson Jones and Erik Nelson, who each walked earlier in the inning, scored on the double. Jones finished the game 3-for-3.
Tyler Johnson was 3-for-4 for the Oles, who jumped to a 3-0 lead.
Augsburg scored two in the third, fifth and sixth innings to lead 6-5 into the seventh. The Auggies' Joe Pierce had a 2-for-4 game at the plate, driving in two in the loss.
Brandon Agneberg got the win on the mound for St. Olaf. Agneberg worked two innings of relief, allowing only a pair of unearned runs.
Game Two: St. Olaf 21, Augsburg 1 Jones was 2-for-2 with five RBIs and Erik Nelson 3-for-5 with four RBIs as the Oles scored five in the first, six in the second, four in the third and five more in the fourth inning.
The 21-run output was the most for the Oles since a 21-2 win over Saint Mary's on April 22 of last season.
Justin Tobias added a three-hit game while Tyler Johnson and Pat Wadzinski each homered in the victory, the team's third in a row.
Starting pitcher Pete Loizzo earned the win, scattering five hits and a walk in four innings of work.
