Men's golf has solid second day, finishes eighth at Wartburg Invite

WAVERLY, Iowa - Bror Herrick fired a second round 72 on Saturday to finish 15th overall and help the St. Olaf men's golf team to an eighth place finish at the two-day Wartburg Invitational.

As a team the Oles collected a 299 in Saturday's final round which was fourth-best of the 18 teams, including school's second squads, at the event.

If anything, St. Olaf was consistent in the event. Mack Traynor (77-77), Chris Conklin (80-74) and Chris Johnson (78-76) each shot two-day 154's to finish in a 31st place tie.

Billy Utter was the Oles' other scorer, shooting a two-day 164.

St. Olaf will compete next in the Gustavus Invitational, April 20-21.
