Oles compete at Carleton Invite, Lee Krough Invite

ST. PETER, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's track and field team competed at Carleton Invitational Thursday and the Lee Krough Invitational, hosted by Gustavus, Friday.
Junior Amie Fillmore qualified provisionally for the NCAA National meet in the pole vault with a vault of 3.68 meters, good for first place at the Carleton Invitational. Also in the field, triple-jumper Susan Kenzie won the triple jump with a jump of 10.8 meters.
On the track, St. Olaf's Annie Knutson finished first in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:49.14. Teammate Katie Duwell was second, crossing the line in 11:00.98. Junior Abby Smith finished second in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:52.46.
At the Lee Krough Invitational Friday, Knutson and first year Maren Westby finished sixth and seventh in the 3000 meter steeplechase. Knutson ran an 11:57.63 to finish just ahead of Westby at 12:34.76. In the 400 meter hurdles, Ole Kathryn Thompson ran a time of 1:10.12, finishing ninth. Smith ran the 800, placing eighth and finishing with a time of 2:21.17.
The Oles performed well in the field with a fourth place finish from pole-vaulter Amie Fillmore who vaulted 3.52 meters. Sophomore Becca Neuger tied for sixth in the high jump, jumping 1.51 meters. First year Susan Kenzie jumped 10.31 meters in the triple jump, good for fifth place, while teammate Jordan Kling went 4.79 meters in the long jump for 12th place.
The Oles will host the Mantiou Classic on Saturday beginning at 9:30 am.
