St. Olaf competes at Meet of Saints, Lee Krough Invite

ST. PETER, Minn. - The St. Olaf men's track and field team competed Thursday at the Meet of the Saints, hosted by St. Thomas, and Friday at the Lee Krough Invitational, hosted by Gustavus.
Top performers Thursday included sprinter Isaac Tut who won the 400 meter dash in 49.66. Jacob Marotz picked up a win in the 5000 meter run with a time of 15:16.45. Senior Cullen O'Neill ran the 1500, finishing in third with a time of 1:53.16.
In the field, John Schantzen won the shot put with a throw of 16.55 meters. Teammate Zeke Heydenreich threw 40.48 meters for fourth in the hammer throw and was fifth in the discus with a throw of 38.03 meters.
At the Lee Krough Invitational, St. Olaf's Dan Monroe finished ninth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.93. Sophomore Ben Wilson was fifth in the 1500 meter run, finishing in a time of 4:07.21.
In the field, Schantzen threw 16.28 meters in the shot put, beating 42 other competitors to win the event.
